How to Reinvent Yourself When the World Counted You Out

Saved in: Reinvention | by Zarickus Worthy

That street life is alluring. Trust me, I know. There’s nothing more appealing than walking into a room and knowing people recognize you got that sack. I don’t care if it’s a party, a shoe store—hell, even the courthouse.

But with a little strategy, patience, and hard work, you can still carry that same level of confidence without the risks that come with the streets.

The key is having a plan—and executing it.

Once you start getting a little motion, pop out for a second. Let them see you shining. Then go right back into your hole. Stack some more. Build some more. Repeat the process.

When you finally leave the game, don’t even look back. Move like you’re above it.

That’s where the real reinvention begins.

Reinvention is about still being “him,” but without taking the risks that come with the game. Every time someone sees you, make sure you’re up to par. Don’t give anybody anything negative to talk about.

Walk with the same energy you had when you were risking it all—but now it’s backed by purpose.

As long as you carry yourself right and don’t look broken, people will never know what you’ve got going on behind the scenes.

Sometimes the best move is to move like a ghost.

Because when nobody really knows what you’re doing, nobody knows what to attack.
