They continued to play when a car blew the horn, Jimmy C pressed pause on the game and got up slowly. Instead of looking out the window or letting whoever it was in the car, come to the door like he normally would if he were sober, he moved the two by four planks and opened the door. Jimmy C looked out the door and hollered, “What’s up?” The first shot rang out and Jimmy thought it was a toy cap gun going off. He was about to start laughing when the second bullet hit the house spraying the vinyl siding into Jimmy C’s face. Realizing that this was the real deal, Jimmy C sobered up quickly. He turned around and dived into the house landing behind the recliner. “Get the fuck down James” screamed Jimmy C. A number of gun shots went off and bullets started coming through the house. Before James could position himself on the floor, a bullet struck him in the shoulder. James screamed out, “I’m shot, fuck, I’m shot!” The white sedan hit the accelerator and screeched down the street. By the time Jimmy C got up off the floor, he could hear sirens getting closer, so he ran outside, stashed his crack inside a Styrofoam cup in the bushes. He ran back inside to check on James lying on the floor writhing in pain.
